Infant Room

CURRICULUM:

Each week, lesson plans are created and each activity incorporates playing. During instruction time, teachers ensure they are using facial expressions and maintaining eye contact with your child to ensure a proper infant, teacher relationship and to ensure the child is engaged in the activity.

ACTIVITIES:

Some activities we will do in our classroom are:

  • using natural items (rocks, plastic logs, etc.) to introduce nature into the classroom

  • books and toys about nature as well as nurturing positive relationships

MATERIALS IN THE CLASSROOM:

  • Cribs

  • Fabric scraps

  • Feathers

  • Shelves for toys

  • Leaves

  • Mirrors

  • dolls

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Parent holiday nights, spent making crafts with loved ones

AT HOME ACTIVITIES:

  • Ensuring that tummy time is utilized each day for the appropriate age group

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

  • A loving classroom environment, reading books and engaging in toys

1-2 year olds

CURRICULUM & ACTIVITIES:

In the classroom, we encourage more learning about shapes as well as colors, both in the classroom and in the natural world. During instruction time, we also sing songs or incorporate music, ensuring the activity is engaging each student's brain. We begin using different items such as playdough and foam letters.

MATERIALS IN THE CLASSROOM:

  • Art supplies

  • Sensory table

  • Glass jars with supplies such as glitter

  • Marbles

  • Pinecones

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Opportunities to come in and visit their children throughout the day in open door policy and participate in their learning as well

AT HOME ACTIVITIES:

  • Engaging in playdough play by creating letters and shapes out of the playdough

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

  • incorporating circle time, music time, manipulative play & free choice

3-4 year olds

CURRICULUM:

In this classroom, we ensure that each lesson has activity where students can model their teacher, in turn modeling the behavior in the classroom as well. For example, ​incorporating cooking in housekeeping, or even allowing children to help clean up after snack time. During instruction, we utilize a more hands-off approach, while simultaneously guiding each student in each activity.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Utilizing our 5 senses in the classroom using manipulatives, art center, sand and water table

  • Art projects weekly, using natural items

MATERIALS IN THE CLASSROOM:

  • Sand and water table

  • Manipulatives

  • Tweezers

  • Costumes

  • Housekeeping

  • Books

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Parent teacher conferences are available at any time at the request of the parents.

AT HOME ACTIVITES:

Singing songs that have action words in them, such as Tooty Ta,  Bingo, Old Macdonald etc.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

  • Instruction teaching different subjects, such as art, music and science
